The U of Me is a site for families entering the college admissions process.

Here’s what it’s all about.

These days the word “college” evokes stress and fear in living rooms across the country.

The annual rankings boil each school down to a single number, books and web sites shout that they have the “inside story”, and it feels like admissions committees have all the leverage. With so much at stake in finding and getting into “the right school,” it makes for a pretty overwhelming process.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

We want to bring the college admissions process back to basics: figuring out what will make a school a great environment for you, and deciding who offers it. It’s not about rankings and ratios; it’s about teenagers and parents dreaming, scouting, communicating, and working together. That’s a very unique and personal thing, and we think it’s worth doing right.

We’ll give you the tools to learn and decide.

We’re working on putting just the right tools into The U of Me so you can compare and pick schools based on exactly what you need. Go ahead and read those annual rankings, talk to friends, go on campus tours, check out the videos, and read the blogs. When it’s time to make sense of what you’ve learned, we’ll provide the platform you need.

Pick your school, on your terms. Make it the U of Me.
